Jewellery Drawer in Your Wardrobe: Eye-Level Organisation

Jewellery, watches, glasses and belts share a special talent: they scatter. Some on the nightstand, some in a box on a shelf, the rest in pockets — and in the morning rush, the missing item is exactly the pair of earrings you're looking for. The solution isn't yet another box, but a dedicated place built into your wardrobe: the jewellery drawer, one of the interior elements you can add straight from the Téchne configurator.

What the jewellery drawer module is

It's a shallow drawer with soft-close damping, designed specifically for small, precious items: compartments where rings, watches, glasses and belts each have their place, visible at a glance. Unlike a regular clothes drawer, it's very low — from about 10 cm tall — so it slips into a wardrobe column while sacrificing almost none of your storage space. The metal frame glides smoothly, and the damped closing settles it gently, so the small items inside don't jump out of their compartments.

Which columns it fits

The module comes in two widths, for columns with an internal width of 76.4 or 86.4 cm — that is, with 18 mm board, columns of roughly 80 and 90 cm outside. The configurator handles the fitting for you: when you drag the jewellery drawer into a column, the column width snaps to the nearest compatible value and stays locked while the element is there. Remove it later and the column unlocks again — nothing to calculate by hand.

At what height to mount it

This is the whole secret of a good jewellery drawer: between waist and eye level. Mounted too low, you end up crouching to tell silver from grey; too high, and you lose exactly the overview that makes it useful. The zone between 90 and 140 cm from the floor is ideal: open, pick at a glance, close. Think of it like a jeweller's counter — the display sits at the customer's eye level, not at their ankles.

What to pair it with in the column

The jewellery drawer stacks: you can place it above or below other elements in the same column, and the configurator validates the combination automatically. A few recipes that work:

• Above regular drawers: folded clothes below, accessories at hand height above. The most natural dressing sequence.
• Below the hanging zone: choose your outfit from the rail and your accessories from the drawer right underneath, in one spot.

How to add it in the configurator

Three organisation tips

• Don't overfill it: the charm of a compartmented drawer is seeing everything at a glance — two stacked layers of items cancel exactly that advantage.
• Group by frequency: the everyday watch and ring at the front, occasion pieces at the back.
• Give it logical neighbours: a perfume shelf above or a mirror on the nearby door turns the corner into a small professional dressing station.
