In a tall wardrobe, the top third is usually wasted space: a clothes rail mounted at 2.2–2.4 metres looks fine on paper, but in practice you only reach it with a chair. A wardrobe lift (pull-down rail) solves exactly this problem — a rail mounted high up on a folding mechanism that you pull down with a handle when you need your clothes and push back up afterwards. The top zone of the wardrobe becomes everyday storage instead of a warehouse for “next year's clothes”.
How a wardrobe lift works
The mechanism is simple: two side arms fixed to the column walls hold the clothes rail, and a central handle lowers the whole frame in an arc, down to a height you can reach comfortably. Hangers stay on the rail throughout the movement, and the springs in the mechanism compensate for the weight of the clothes, so the motion stays smooth and controlled in both directions.

Available sizes and compatible columns
The wardrobe lift in the configurator comes in three fixed widths: 764, 864 and 964 mm — matching the interior of standard wardrobe columns (an 800 mm column has exactly 764 mm of usable width between its two 18 mm side panels; likewise 900 → 864 and 1000 → 964).
- Column width: the lift activates in columns with an interior width between 764 and 960 mm. If the column is too narrow, the configurator flags it — you can never end up with a configuration that cannot be manufactured.
- Required height: the mechanism needs roughly 1,200 mm of free vertical space below its mounting point — the rail plus its travel. In practice, the lift occupies the upper zone of a normal-height wardrobe column.
- Depth: the element is designed for standard wardrobe depth (around 60 cm), so hangers can rotate freely.
Where it makes the most sense
- Ceiling-height wardrobes. If you configured a 2.4–2.7 m wardrobe to use the room's full height, the lift is the difference between “storage space” and “accessible closet”. Without it, everything above the classic rail needs a chair or a ladder.
- A closet shared by two people. In a wardrobe split into two zones, the lift practically doubles the accessible rail length without increasing the wardrobe's footprint.
- Shorter users or people with reduced mobility. The lowered rail comes down to a comfortable height for anyone — including those who would never reach a top shelf.
Where it does not make sense: in columns you plan to fill with drawers all the way up, in low wardrobes (under about 2 metres, where the classic rail is already reachable) and in the corner unit of corner wardrobes, which is equipped with fixed rails and shelves instead.
